A prestigious independent girls’ school located in Greater Manchester.

Challenge:

A Bursar wanted to complete the on-going SLT analysis and consultation on lockdown, synthesising this into a focused procedure.

​

AI Schools were approached to help move beyond “what if” discussions and to identify and document the most effective procedure for the school.

Solution:

The integrated lockdown package was selected as it offered the Bursar a “wing-to-wing” security analysis of likely threats and how the SLT should approach lockdown in reacting to a real incident.

 

Having completed a remote analysis of existing documentation, a single day on site was agreed which achieved:

 

• Site Security Walk through.

• Lockdown procedure with guidance on effective signalling across campus/ immediate staff actions and likely on-site/ off-site refuges.

• Professional Development Training to SLT in managing critical incidents.

• Tabletop exercise based on armed intruder scenario.

• Verbal de-brief covering security SWOT analysis

• Written report

Result:

A new lockdown procedure was signed-off by the SLT on the day and a programme of rolling out to staff began the following week.
